Mark Melendy has over twenty-five years of experience in
a variety of practice areas, including estate planning and
administration, tax law, business succession planning,
non-profit corporation law, trust administration,
guardianship, business law and real estate.
Professional Experience
Mark began his legal career as a law clerk to Franklin S. Billings, Jr., Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont. Thereafter, he was associated with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in New York, and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Boston. Mark and his family then relocated to Brattleboro, Vermont, where Mark was a principal at Kristensen, Cummings, Phillips, Carrol, and Melendy, P.C. In 1998, Mark moved back to the Upper Valley, where he grew up, and was a founder of Whittington, Melendy & Girdwood, P.C. in Hanover, New Hampshire and Woodstock, Vermont. In 2003, he started his own firm, Law Offices of Mark E. Melendy, PLLC, which became Melendy Moritz PLLC in 2009.

Community Involvement
Mark serves as President on the Board of Trustees of the Ottauquechee Health Foundation in Woodstock, Vermont; and on the Board of Trustees of Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital, Alice Peck Day Health Systems Corp., and Alice Peck Day Lifecare Center, Inc.
Personal
Born and raised in Lebanon, New Hampshire, Mark previously worked in the insurance industry attaining the CPCU designation, and was elected to the New Hampshire House of Representatives. Mark currently lives in Hartland, Vermont and on Mascoma Lake in Enfield, New Hampshire. His wife Jo is a minister in Quechee, Vermont at the Quechee Congregational Church. They have two children, Mateo and Maria.
